Model Gigi Hadid has become the latest celebrity to deactivate her Twitter account after Elon Musk took over the company.
On Instagram, Hadid posted a story trying to explain why she had deactivated her Twitter account. She goes on to explain, “…especially with its new leadership, it’s becoming more and more of a cesspool of hate & bigotry,” according to screenshots of the story, which has since expired. Some may say it is a bit hypocritical of the model to call others out on hate and bigotry when she herself has made anti-Zionist and anti-Israel comments time and time again. Most comments that were made by Gigi and her family are not even slightly true….and yet she had no problem spreading hate across the globe with her 76M followers. Causing Anti Semitism to rise even more.

The model now mother said Twitter is not a place she wants to be a part of even though she connected with many fans on the social media platform. “But I can’t say it’s a safe place for anyone, nor a social platform that will do more good than harm,” she wrote. Again…as a woman who has freedom to be herself and express herself she sure has a funny way of showing what side of the law she is with. Twitter is meant for free speech, but where does the line draw? We guess that is the problem that lies within all of us.
We wish the Hadid family well and hope they use their platform to spread equality and above all truth. Taking her own advice would be a good place to start.
