TALENT EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW: ACTOR ENEA PAGNI TALKS ABOUT FILMING GARDEN OF AIDEN

by eyesonhollywood
Rising Actor Enea Pagni stars as Gabriel in “Garden of Aiden,” written, directed, and produced by Amalia Fuzulova. We had the chance to do an interview Enea Pagni to find out about his role and an exclusive behind the scenes look. Read below to find out more!

Enea, can you share with us any insider news about your latest film Garden of Aiden?

Enea Pagni:  I am excited to share that Garden of Aiden, directed by Amalia Fuzulova, has made it into the Brooklyn Film Festival.

Watching a film you are in that you put work into is always a special moment, and being able to see film festivals recognize your work as well, is a further reward.

How was your experience on set ?

Enea Pagni: When you first arrive on a new set on your first day, you never know what you’re going to find or what energy you’ll find. You walk in ready for anything.

This set was perfect. When I got there, I first met with Amalia, who immediately brought me cold water, assuming I looked beaten by New York’s summer heat. We started talking about life, food, her film, and I could tell we’d clicked.

When we were filming my first scene, I asked if I could do a little improv right before my lines. I loved how Amalia loved it and on one of the last takes even ended up saying, “Can we stick to the improv? I like it.”.

All the people I worked with on that set have been amazing at building the right space that is needed to be vulnerable, and efficient at the same time.

Do you have a moment that you would say was your most memorable  ?

Enea Pagni: Still on the first day of filming, I remember I had brought a couple of personal clothing items that Amalia thought could be used for my character.

After asking her what I should use, she looked at me and with the most sincere tone she said, “You’re Italian; I trust you with clothes.”

Any special shout-outs youd like to give ?

Enea Pagni: Yes, of course. First of all to the director of this short film, Amalia, for coming up with this story and wanting me in the project. Secondly, to Ilaria Serantoni, our director of photography on set, who I loved working with from the first moment of filming.

This second shoutout is for Becky Braunstein and Brianna Barrett, whose team I was so glad to join for their recent table read of “Cancer Culture” at YALLFest.

I would also like to thank all the people who work behind the cameras on these films and projects and who actively make them possible.
