Understanding the inseparable link between financial concerns and stress, Just Do GOOD Entertainment, a content creation company that aims to inspire and motivate viewers to practice kindness, took a proactive and determined stance upon learning about the impact of the depletion of the Affordable Connectivity Program on the nation. Approximately 3.4 million rural households and more than 300,000 households in tribal areas are impacted, as well as more than four million households with active duty for former military members, according to the FCC agency.
Moved by the circumstance that millions of Americans are being cut off from content online, Monty Hobbs and Valerie Smaldone, the founders and producers of Just Do GOOD Entertainment and producers of the television series Divine Renovation, Destination: New England, hosted by TV icon Erik Estrada, decided to purchase local air time to allow the community the ability to view the program, on free over the air television. Divine Renovation identifies homes and facilities needing significant enhancements and provides a spiritual uplift for the recipients. Hobbs and Smaldone work with each community they shoot in, finding businesses that wish to provide goods and services and give back to those in need.
“We have met so many incredible businesses during our weeks of shooting, and we are thrilled to provide exposure for their brand on our show,” stated Hobbs. Smaldone added, “Our goal is to highlight the good that these businesses do, often quietly and under wraps, simply because they believe in giving back and helping others.”
The first market they purchased, Time to Air Divine Renovation, Destination: New England, is Hartford, on powerhouse WTIC, Fox 61, which covers most of Connecticut. Plans are in the works for them to choose different markets around the country and show the program to those who just have to turn on their television to watch it.
The next project they are currently in production for is a new reality series titled, Finding Kindness. This show, which is designed to match a celebrity with a hard-working businessperson, who will recognize the good they do in the community and provide surprises to help nurture their business, is sure to be a hit. The first episode is slated to be filmed in New York City shortly.
Hobbs and Smaldone will also host the series, which will provide an authentic look at what it takes to produce a television program, with all the twists and turns that happen along the way. Associate Producers Jay Batchler, Christina Sciongay, and Joseph Cipri have joined them for this production. Batchler is also the show’s editor.
