Desperate times call for desperate measures. In an effort to gain money to pay off creditors, Erika Jayne’s music memorabilia is being auctioned off by her estranged husband, Tom Girardi’s law firm.
Tom and his law firm, Girardi Keese are currently being sued for allegedly stealing funds from family members who lost loves ones in a fatal 2018 Boeing plane crash. He’s since lost his law license and has filed for chapter 7 bankruptcy. In addition, he’s being sued by his business partners.
Erika’s involvement in the scandal is up for debate. Erika, 50, had been married to Tom, 82 for 21 years before she filed for divorce in November 2020. While she claims she knew nothing about Tom’s business ventures, some people think the divorce is sham and only being done to protect their assets.
According to a source from US Weekly, Erika had no say in what’s being auctioned off and isn’t thrilled about it. Memorabilia related to Erika Jayne’s music career including a Billboard Plaque for her 2009 song “Roller Coaster”, magazine covers, music promo and photos are being auctioned off.
In addition, the firm is selling other items from the office including: a Cadillac, vintage books, a piano, wine, art, oriental rugs, sports and music memorabilia and furniture. A poster of Julia Roberts from the movie Erin Brodvich is also being sold. The movie was actually inspired by Tom Girardi’s famous case against the Pacific Gas and Electric Company in the 1990s.
Who would have thought his firm would use her memorabilia as a last ditch effort to pay back legal fees.
