Rue might have a bright future, or so Zendaya hinted at in the mid-season breakdown. Season 2 of Euphoria concluded on Sunday night. Although Zendaya’s character is struggling with addiction, she noted that the finale ended positively, even though another character lost their life.
It wasn’t easy portraying a character hitting rock bottom with addiction. Zendaya reflected, “It was painful for everyone involved with making it. I know it was painful for me and I think it got to the point of, ‘We can’t leave her here. This can’t be the end of her story. There has to be some hope at the end of this. Something beautiful at the end of all this pain, “
Fans of the show believe Rue can turn her life around. Zendaya agrees, stating, “I think that’s what we need. I think that’s what the world needs. So, if you can hold onto that, if you can bear with her through those painful moments, if you can still root for her, then maybe there is some hope at the end.”
Zendaya took to Instagram ahead of the season 2 finale with the message “It’s been a long but beautiful road, last euphoria day for a while…we hope you enjoy it.”
When it comes to the cast, they were surprised by the storylines presented in season 2. The real question now is where the writers will take season 3.
