A Voice for the Voiceless: Actress Lunden De’Leon Aims to Rebuild her Southern Community

Whenever Actress Lunden De’Leon (known to people in her hometown as Cynthia Furnace) walks into her local supermarket, people thank her.

“People are coming up to me in the store thanking me for running for city council,” says De’Leon. “ They tell me they’ve been praying for a change and this could be it.”

Recently announcing her run for Mullins City Council District 1, De’Leon packed her bags leaving Hollywood behind for the small town, where she spends most of her time volunteering for charitable organizations that’s important to her. “I’m running for City Council because I deeply care about my community. I came back home to give back. We have so many issues to tackle like the economy, housing and youth development,” says De’Leon. “We’re descent, hardworking people who deserves a good life.”

Elections for De’Leon will be held on Tuesday, November 3, 2020
