Guess she had too much fun as a blonde.
Kim Kardashian unveiled her new hair during her family’s annual Christmas party on December 24 via Instagram on December 26. Her longtime hairstylist, Chris Appleton, showed off her return to brunette Kim with the caption “O.G Kim or miss the blonde?” to which Kim commented, “I miss the blonde.” Thousands of followers chimed in, but the majority opinion seems to be happy with the return to her classic Kim look.
Kim’s platinum blonde ‘do made its debut at this year’s Met Gala, when she shocked millions of people by wearing Marilyn Monroe’s custom Bob Mackie gown. The dress was specifically designed for Marilyn, and she was even sewn into it before famously singing Happy Birthday to JFK on TV. Kim channeled Marilyn’s iconic platinum blonde hair color, but instead of the ‘60s blowout she had it slicked back into a “Modern Marilyn” bun. The look was another creation by Chris Appleton, who has also worked on J. Lo, Dua Lipa, and Jason Momoa.
The return to brunette Kim is just in time for the new year, and definitely is going to inspire many more to revert back to their roots too. Maybe keeping it classic will be the go-to look for 2023.
