When presenting an award at the 63rd Grammy Awards, audiences around the world thought that Ben Affleck wasn’t having a good time. His facial expressions and demeanor were just off. But, as Affleck later explained, this was not the case.

He told The Hollywood Reporter, “I had a good time at the Grammys. My wife was going, and I thought, ‘Well, there’ll be good music. It might be fun.’ At movie award shows, it’s speeches and, like, sound-mixing webinars. But I thought this would be fun.”

J. Lo and Affleck also shared banter at their table when the cameras were rolling, and audiences thought it was a full-blown argument. Affleck also clarified that incident. “They were framing us in this shot, but I didn’t know they were rolling. I leaned into her and I was like, ‘As soon they start rolling, I’m going to slide away from you and leave you sitting next to Trevor.’ She goes, ‘You better f–king not leave.’ That’s a husband-and-wife thing.” It was simply banter, and everyone watching had misinterpreted the exchange.

J. Lo also shared a response to the Internet’s thoughts about Affleck’s unhappiness to be at the Grammy’s, sharing a trailer for his new film Air with the caption: “My husband’s happy face.”

The singer was in charge of introducing to the stage Kim Petras and Sam Smith, who wore dazzling red costumes to receive the award for their hit song “Unholy” live on stage. The duo took home a Grammy for “Best Pop Duo/Group Performance,” making Petras the first transgender woman to win a Grammy. Madonna, 64, shared online that she was disappointed with the way audiences chose to focus on hating her looks instead of celebrating the monumental landmark.

The “Material Girl” singer took to Instagram to share her anger. “Instead of focusing on what I said in my speech, which was about giving thanks for the fearlessness of artists like Sam and Kim, many people chose to only talk about close-up photos of me taken with a long lens camera … that would distort anyone’s face…I have been degraded by media since the beginning of my career but I understand that this is all a test and I am happy to do the trailblazing so that all the women behind me can have an easier time in the years to come. In the words of Beyoncé, ‘You won’t break my soul.’”

Over the years, Madonna has been accused of extensive plastic surgery. However, she flames back against such accusations with comments like, “Desperately seeking no one’s approval … Entitled to free agency over my body like everyone else,” and “I have never apologized for any of the creative choices I have made nor the way that I look or dress and I’m not going to start.”

Lizzo brought in spring early with a beautiful floral dress, complete with an orange flowery hood and cape. She even captioned her Instagram post, “Spring awakening.” She was accompanied by Myke Wright, her boyfriend, who she became public with in 2022.

The Rock and wife Lauren Hashian perfectly complemented each other’s red carpet looks. Hashian wore a dazzling silver sequin dress, and Johnson donned a golden metallic suit. Aurum and Argentum!

Cardi B was a showstopper in an intense royal blue geometric dress. The shapes encircling her body are reminiscent of water, and created interesting shapes that were new to the red carpet. She was accompanied by husband Offset. Talk about couture!

Doja Cat was a showstopper in a black latex number. The off the shoulder dress was accompanied by a black wig, black eye makeup, and a dramatic mole placed on top of the “You Right” singer’s eyebrow-free forehead. The resulting look was an extremely glam-goth red carpet look.

Kim Petras and Sam Smith turned up the heat in matching red fabrics. They both wore Valentino for their performance of Unholy and to accept their Grammy for Unholy.
