Filmed live at the Broadwater Theater in Hollywood, Jennifer Gable’s debut comedy special is a fast-paced, laugh-out-loud hour that spans everything from politics and pop culture to dating, sobriety, and her own colorful life experiences.  This special is distributed by Comedy Dynamics, known for collaborating with both emerging and established comedic talents.

With a unique comedic voice honed over 10 years performing across the U.S. and internationally, Jennifer delivers a blend of clever one-liners, sharp political commentary, relatable personal stories, and clean-to-edgy humor that appeals to all ages and backgrounds. Known for her non-stop joke-writing talent and razor-sharp delivery, Jennifer’s material has earned rave reviews from audiences everywhere!

Originally from the D.C. area, Jennifer grew up an imaginative only child, sharpening her storytelling skills with her stuffed animals as her first audience. Today, she’s headlined in cities like London, Los Angeles, D.C., Reno, Santa Barbara, and San Diego, and performed in top comedy venues including The Laugh Factory, Improv, The Stand, Comedy Store, and clubs across NYC, L.A., and Vegas.  Jennifer has been featured on the Discovery Channel, Sirius XM, Kevin Hart’s LOL Network, the Kill Tony podcast, and a ComedyTime taping. She’s also appeared in several indie films and television pilots—including the original pilot for Chopped (fittingly, as a devoted foodie). Ranked #154 on Vulture’s Top 1,000 Comedians of 2020, she’s a SAG-AFTRA member and part of the Ladies of Comedy Association.

A third-level UCB alum and Groundlings-trained improviser, Jennifer is also an award-winning filmmaker (HollyShorts Film Festival) and scriptwriter. She’s gone viral on Twitter, hosts The Attention Harlot Podcast alongside other top-tier comedians, and is a popular guest on podcasts and stages alike. She regularly performs at the Hollywood Improv, Laugh Factory, corporate events, virtual shows worldwide, and even roasts people at birthday party events.  Jennifer opened for Bonnie McFarlane, the great Comedian and Emmy writer.  She most recently performed in her first big theater with live music with Marc Maron.  And performed at the Hollywood Improv main stage.  Jennifer doesn’t call herself a political comedian—she roasts all sides equally—and her comedy is always fresh, fearless, and funny.

“I lived in NYC for 1 year and really enjoyed performing Stand-up consistently in NYC & online zoom Shows – Stand Up for over 10 years.  Anytime an artist has the opportunity to Produce their own content, it can open a lot more doors.  I shot on Reds for a drama short film I made, ’13 steps’ that won an award in HollyShorts Film Festival.  For this Special I decided to use the new black magic cinema cameras.   It’s great Comedians can shoot their own Specials now to have more creative control and I’m going to edit my own videos now moving forward so I have even more control.”

“It’s great clips can be uploaded across social media platforms to reach bigger audiences!  And then you can sell your Special to a bigger production company like ‘Comedy Dynamics or ‘800 Pound Gorilla’ who can then help you distribute farther onto more streaming platforms,” exclaims Jennifer.

“I’m grateful that a lot of people that have watched my Special have really enjoyed it.  Fans in North Carolina even had a watch party with surround sound speakers in their home theater and they said they felt like they were really there LIVE.  I enjoy connecting with fans and want to tour more again soon.  I wanted it to have a A24 LIVE interactive feel and I think I achieved that.  Audiences will be very honest too online so Comedians can’t just put anything up online.  It takes years to develop good material, get stage presence and find your voice.   I think audiences are already starting to get tired of seeing just crowd work now and that fad will start to fade out again.  I wanted to talk about a variety of topics that everyone can relate to.   I’m going to talk about getting divorced and some more political humor and crowd work in this next one.” -Jennifer Gable

Her 2nd Special is being shot this Summer in a different Theater in Santa Monica.  “The next one will be shot on Arri Alexa cameras with a lighter, brighter feel” says Jennifer.

She plans on touring more major cities again after these 2 Specials are streaming on Networks.  Sign up on her website JenniferGableOfficial.com for touring LIVE Show dates.

She is looking forward to collaborating with more professional artists in the near future. And has a web-series she shot steaming online called ‘Pennies for Your Thoughts.’  The series is about artists trying to make it in Hollywood.  She will begin pitching it again soon to spin into a TV series.  She has been sober most of her adult life and wants to give back to more people struggling with addiction with her Non-Profit.

“It’s a crazy time in the world and a lot of people need to laugh right now.  You can buy views as you want as a Comedian ad it’s easier to go viral and get attention, but you can’t buy the internet audiences approval.  You still have to put in the work and be great at your craft.” says Jennifer.

She is repped commercially by Adam Lieblein & will dedicate her 2nd Special to Randall Edwards, of Catalyst Talent, one of her recent longest running Agents in Atlanta who passed away last year.

Global Ascension Studios is doubling down on its mission to disrupt the entertainment industry and its newest partnership with the platform We Identifi might just be its boldest move yet.

After drawing over 60 million viewers on X with its hit documentary The Man You Don’t Know, the studio is expanding its reach by teaming up with the creator-first platform that’s challenging the status quo of digital content: We Identifi. The two companies are aligning to build a new kind of media ecosystem one where artists can fully control how their work is produced, shared, and monetized.

“2024 was just the beginning,” said Joshua Macciello, CEO of Global Ascension Studios. “By partnering with the We Identifi, we are bringing A-list talent, including actors, musicians, athletes, comedians and influencers/podcasters, into a creator-first ecosystem where they can craft authentic content and receive the best deals possible. This is about giving artists control, embracing innovation, and ensuring We Identifi becomes the premier destination for uncensored, high-impact entertainment.”

Through this alliance, Global Ascension Studios is preparing an ambitious lineup of projects from scripted series and documentaries to live talk shows and interactive media all designed for the We Identifi platform. The collaboration not only extends GAS’s production scope but also puts them at the forefront of a movement to democratize content creation.

We identify sets itself apart by giving creators complete autonomy through a self-serve model. It allows artists to run their own networks and choose how they make money whether through subscriptions, livestreams, pay-per-view, or brand sponsorships without the interference of traditional platforms or studios.

“Teaming up with Global Ascension Studios is a game-changer,” said Spencer Gordon, We Identifi’s CEO. “Their speed in delivering high-quality productions, combined with our commitment to creator independence, is reshaping the power and potential of streaming. The GAS-We Identifi alliance liberates all creators from the shackles of social media algorithms and the mandates of antiquated film studios and TV networks. Together, we are building a home for artists who make the content they want to make and connect with audiences on their terms while fiercely upholding our First Amendment rights as the foundation of true creative freedom.”

The app is now live on Apple’s iOS App Store, and the We Identifi website (weidentifi.com) is in beta mode, with more improvements on the way. For fans and creators alike, it’s an invitation to step into something new a platform where creative freedom and audience connection are the priority.

With director Christopher Martini and producer Frank Torchia already involved, and a programming slate that spans blockbuster films, music specials, live events, and digital-first experiences, the partnership is gearing up to leave a lasting impact.

As audiences continue to demand authentic, unfiltered content, Global Ascension Studios and the platform
We Identifi are ready to deliver on their own terms.

Scary movie lovers got their fill of spine-tingling thrills last night as the highly anticipated Indonesian horror film Pabrik Gula (Sugar Mill) made its U.S. debut at AMC The Grove in Los Angeles. Produced by MD Pictures, Indonesia’s leading film studio, the premiere was more than just a red carpet it was a celebration of the country’s growing impact on global cinema, and its rightful place in Hollywood’s horror hall of fame.

The foyer buzzed with excitement as horror enthusiasts and film fans packed the venue, eager for a glimpse of the film’s stars who flew in from Jakarta exclusively for the event. At the center of the evening was producer and MD Entertainment CEO Manoj Punjabi, often dubbed the godfather of Indonesian cinema. Punjabi was joined by acclaimed director Awi Suryadi, Indonesia’s most revered horror auteur, whose past work has consistently dominated box offices in Southeast Asia.

Pabrik Gula is a haunting and immersive tale inspired by true events, set in a remote Javanese sugar mill where a group of young seasonal workers confront a deeply rooted curse. As supernatural forces begin to unravel their sanity, the friends must fight not just for survival—but for each other. The film is a chilling yet culturally rich entry into the horror genre, expertly crafted by Suryadi and brought to life by breakout Indonesian stars Arbani Yasiz, Ersya Aurelia, and Erika Carlina.

The screening drew a full house, including notable Hollywood names like 1923’s Sebastian Roché and The Conjuring screenwriter Carey Hayes, along with Tara Reid, who recently won Best Actress for her own Horror film “Dr Quarentine”, and The Sex Lives of College Girls actor Colton Tran. Guests were treated to an atmospheric rollercoaster of eerie visuals, clever jump scares, and unexpectedly witty humor. The balance of horror and levity showcased the film’s broad appeal, making it a standout not only in Asian cinema but on the international stage.

Following the screening, Punjabi hosted an exclusive after-party at his private West Hollywood residence, where cast, business associates, and close friends gathered to toast the film’s successful stateside debut. It was an intimate capstone to a night that marked a major milestone for Indonesian film—one where Hollywood truly took notice.

With Pabrik Gula set for its Indonesian release on March 31, 2025—just in time for Eid al-Fitr—and a North American theatrical run to follow in April, this film is more than a frightening tale. It’s a powerful symbol of how international voices are reshaping the future of genre storytelling. And if last night’s reception is any indication, Pabrik Gula won’t be the last Indonesian horror film to leave Hollywood screaming for more.

A Celebration of Craftsmanship and Cultural Heritage

The Smithsonian’s National Museum of the American Indian takes great pride in recognizing Keetoowah Citizen Lisa Christiansen for her exceptional design of a one-of-a-kind masterpiece. This creation, deeply rooted in culture and tradition, is a testament to the rich heritage and artistic talents of the Native American community.

The Journey of Creation

Lisa Christiansen, born Gideethloahee Ogan Groundhog, collaborated with other skilled artisans to bring this exquisite piece to fruition. The Copper Gorget, a remarkable showcase of craftsmanship, was designed by Lisa Christiansen and realized through the creative expertise of Ren McCulley of Native Ways. McCulley meticulously cut, polished, and hammered the copper to create this distinguished gorget, a symbol of cultural pride and artistic excellence. The final touch was completed by Darren Cramer owner of Crown Jewels in Altus, Oklahoma by placing the sterling silver precision laser cutout of Sequoyah onto the copper gorget which was carefully welded silver tubes to Sequoyah, drilled the copper to be in alignment and created a brad by fanning the tube to secure Sequoyah to the Gorget.

A Blend of Heritage and Artistry

Historically, each individual added their unique touch to ceremonial pieces of art, making them their own. This principle is embodied in this masterpiece. Lisa Christiansen, founder of Blue Wolf Designs, collaborated with Robert McFall Jr. of Brothers Fine Jewelry to hand-cut Sequoyah from a silver dollar, placing it upon the copper gorget. This collaboration of talents exemplifies the unity and shared cultural heritage of the Native American community.

The Beadwork: A Testament to Tradition

Christiansen personally selected, hand-strung, and completed the beadwork on this unique gorget. The beads are crafted from clay, hand-rolled and traditionally fired in Hulbert, Oklahoma. These clay beads are particularly special, as they appear to contain copper, perfectly complementing the copper gorget. The beadwork also features authentic buffalo rib bone, deer antler in honor of Christiansen’s father Mack Vann, the last monolingual Cherokee, as well as Trail of Tears beads (Job’s tears), turquoise, shell, Tiger’s eye, wood barrel, mother of pearl, and copper rondelle beads. Every bead on this masterpiece is sourced from Mother Nature, encompassing animal, mineral, metal, and earth.

Exhibition and Celebration

This exquisite gorget will be showcased at the OKCPS Native American Services Stompdance, which is scheduled to take place on March 8, 2025, at Northwest Classen High School. The school is located at 2801 NW 27th St., Oklahoma City, OK 73107 and the entrance to the gym will be on the northside by the softball field. This celebration will provide an opportunity to appreciate not only the intricate craftsmanship but also the profound cultural significance of this piece. This historical Gorget will be available for viewing.

The Significance of the Gorget

The Copper Gorget is more than just a piece of jewelry; it is a symbol of cultural identity, pride, and resilience. The careful selection of materials and the intricate design reflect the rich traditions and heritage of Native American craftsmanship. Each element of the gorget tells a story, from the authentic buffalo rib bone to the deer antler honoring Mack Vann, and the Trail of Tears beads symbolizing a painful yet resilient history.

A Legacy of Creativity and Tradition

Lisa Christiansen’s unwavering dedication to preserving and honoring her cultural heritage through her art is commendable. Her collaboration with other talented artisans has resulted in a masterpiece that not only showcases individual creativity but also celebrates collective cultural identity. The recognition by the Smithsonian’s National Museum of the American Indian underscores the significance of this work.

The Importance of Cultural Recognition

The acknowledgment and celebration of Native American art and culture by institutions such as the Smithsonian’s National Museum of the American Indian play a crucial role in preserving and promoting cultural heritage. It provides a platform for Native American artists to share their work with a broader audience, fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation of their rich traditions.

Immerse Yourself in the Culture

The Copper Gorget, designed by Lisa Christiansen and brought to life through the talents of various artisans, stands as a magnificent testament to the enduring legacy of Native American craftsmanship. Its exhibition at the OKCPS Native American Services Stompdance, will allow many to witness and appreciate the beauty and cultural significance of this exceptional piece. Through this recognition, we honor not only the art but also the rich heritage and traditions that it represents.

About the Designer of the “Sequoyah Gorget” Lisa Christiansen and Her Esteemed Heritage

A Legacy Deeply Rooted in the Cherokee Tribe

Lisa Christiansen’s lineage is deeply entrenched in the illustrious history of the Cherokee people. She is the 5th great-granddaughter of Sequoyah, a seminal figure renowned for creating the Cherokee syllabary, a revolutionary contribution to the written language of the Cherokee people.

Family Lineage

Ms. Christiansen is the daughter of Mack Vann, distinguished as the last monolingual Cherokee, and Mary Ann Groundhog, a prolific author and esteemed member of the Cherokee community. Mary Ann Groundhog, also known as Sosti (Mary Ann Eslinger) Groundhog, has been a fervent activist within the American Indian Movement, advocating tirelessly for the rights and welfare of Native Americans.

Mary Ann Groundhog’s Contributions

Mary Ann Groundhog authored two significant books, which stand as a testament to her dedication to preserving and promoting Cherokee culture. The first book, GI-Dee-Thlo-Ah-Ee of the Blue People Clan, was a cherished gift for her daughters during Christmas in 1974. Only ten copies of this treasured work exist, with one belonging to Lisa Christine; two copies are preserved at the Copyright Office and the National Archives in Washington, D.C.; one at the Oklahoma Historical Society; and one held by the Cherokee Tribal Attorney, Earl Boyd Pierce.

Her second book, Cherokee People, boldly exposes the illicit exploitation and human trafficking of Native American girls by the U.S. government, underscoring her commitment to highlighting the injustices faced by her community.

George Washington Groundhog’s Influence

Lisa Christiansen’s grandfather, George Washington Groundhog, is celebrated for his pivotal role in instigating a movement that influenced the Five Civilized Tribes—the Muscogee (Creek), the Choctaw, the Chickasaw, the Seminole, and the Cherokee. His legacy is intertwined with the significant events of 1969, when W.W. Keeler, the principal chief of the Cherokee Nation, faced a formidable challenge during his tenure.

The Fight for Cherokee Governance

In the summer of 1969, a lawsuit filed by the Original Cherokee Community Organization sought to remove W.W. Keeler from his position as chief and called for the election of tribal leaders by the Cherokee people. This was a critical moment, as the tribe had not held elections since the Curtis Act of 1898, which, along with subsequent federal laws, had effectively ended Cherokee governance.

The Dawes Rolls census and the land allotment system, implemented by these laws, transformed Cherokees and members of the other Five Civilized Tribes into land-owning citizens of the United States and Oklahoma. With statehood in 1907, chiefs of the five tribes were appointed by the U.S. president, further complicating the quest for self-governance.

Legacy of Activism and Advocacy

The legacy of Lisa Christiansen’s family is one of resilience, advocacy, and unwavering commitment to the Cherokee Nation. From Sequoyah’s creation of the syllabary to Mary Ann Groundhog’s literary contributions and activism, their impact continues to resonate within the community and beyond.

Through her lineage, Lisa Christiansen carries forward a profound heritage marked by cultural preservation, leadership, and a relentless pursuit of justice for the Cherokee people.

The Cherokee people have existed since time immemorial?
Is it that we’re from the ancient ones, that we have rich history, or what exactly? As Cherokee, we are all of that – born of the ancient ways, filled with rich history – and so much more. This is who we are.

Immemorial is symbolic of the shared history of our people. That we can’t look over the horizon of history and not see ourselves. Immemorial means since the beginning, together. That no matter how far back we look, we are one, unified Cherokee people. As we work, as Cherokee people, for the rights of our fellow Cherokee, we must join in unison to sustain that shared history, since time immemorial.

Do not let our differences divide us. Join me, as Cherokee people, from One Fire, in honoring all Cherokee, past, present, and future by reminding ourselves: I am Cherokee. We are one Cherokee people. We are from One Fire, given to us by the Creator. We join together to honor our ancestors, to remember and pay homage to their fight for place, peace and freedom. We share a commitment, as Cherokee people, to each other, our Creator, and all things living. We commit ourselves to each other, we recognize our shared rights, and we stand as one Cherokee people – from One Fire, together immemorial.

“Join me in sharing our One Fire pledge. We acknowledge our unity, which binds us to each other, to our Creator, to our ancestors, and to our collective future of place, peace, and prosperity.”

Native American Land Acknowledgment

The Library of Congress has long treasured and preserved Native American collections in a variety of formats. Today, the Library is dedicated to building vibrant partnerships with Native American communities; providing respectful, consultative, and appropriate access to historic Native American materials; promoting innovative scholarship on Native American collections; collecting contemporary Native American works; and cultivating and celebrating distinguished achievements by Native American scholars and creators.

Located near the confluence of the Potomac and Anacostia rivers, the Library of Congress is built on land that is part of the homelands of the Nacotchtank (Anacostan), Piscataway Conoy, Pamunkey, and Manahoac people. Indigenous peoples, including members of these nations, still live and practice their teachings and cultures here today. The Library honors these stewards of the land, and all of the Indigenous peoples of the United States, who are the first peoples, including those in the region where the Library now provides its services. The Library works to interact with these groups in a responsible and respectful way.

Land acknowledgment is a traditional custom that dates back centuries in many Native nations and communities. Today, land acknowledgments are used by Native peoples and non-Natives to recognize Indigenous peoples who are the original stewards of the lands on which we now live and work. (National Museum of the American Indian external link)

The Library of Congress has developed its own land acknowledgment statement with input, guidance and consultation from Native organizations and institutions. Library employees may choose to use one of several variations on the statement above when introducing a program, giving a presentation, signing an email message or letter, or publishing a paper or article. Use of these statements is optional and voluntary for Library of Congress staff.

Background on Developing the Library’s Land Acknowledgment Statements

In developing the language for this land acknowledgment statement, the Library of Congress wishes to convey that the Library respects and serves all Indigenous peoples throughout the entire nation.  At the same time, we especially acknowledge those Native Nations historically and presently situated in the immediate region where the Library provides its services, defined as encompassing the main campus of the Library adjacent to the U.S. Capitol and the National Mall, and also Library satellite locations and facilities in the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia.

The use of the term “diversity” in the statement refers to those of the many sovereign Native Nations who have been present in the territory that is now the United States since time immemorial. The term is also inclusive of Indigenous persons who originate from across modern international boundaries and who make vibrant lives in our region and urban life today.

With the statement, the Library also seeks to emphasize the acknowledgment of Native peoples as the traditional custodians of lands and cultures pre-dating the Library’s settler colonial presence and the Library’s current mission of service.

The acknowledgment also refers to the unique shaping of our location by adjacent waterways, which have long been used, respected, and known to Native people as sources of livelihood and means of migration, interaction, and travel, and which originate in and connect to other regions while defining the land mass on which the U.S. capital city and the Library of Congress are positioned.

In formulating this statement, a working group studied land acknowledgment statements in use by other cultural institutions and consulted with regional Indigenous authorities and Native American librarians and cultural representatives.

This star-studded soirée was the talk of the town, attracting an array of celebrities, philanthropic leaders, and passionate supporters united in their mission to raise crucial funds for one of the nation’s premier children’s hospitals.

More than just an evening of glamor, the gala was a heartfelt celebration aimed at ensuring every child in Connecticut receives exceptional care. Honored by U.S. News & World Report as a top children’s hospital, Connecticut Children’s is the state’s only health organization wholly devoted to pediatric medicine. With the generous contributions from attendees, the foundation is set to enhance its innovative clinical capabilities, bringing groundbreaking treatments closer to home for the children who need them most.

The evening embraced a whimsical Willy Wonka theme that set a playful tone, featuring a chic cocktail reception, a gourmet dining experience, and a live auction that raised over three times its original goal and highlighting the incredible generosity of the attendees and supporters. Guests enjoyed a red carpet entrance as A-list celebrities joined the cause, showcasing their support for the hospital’s mission of delivering healthcare “Beyond Imagination.”

Among the attendees were Matlock co-stars Jason Ritter and David Del Rio, whose on-screen chemistry has captivated audiences. They were joined by Richard Schiff, known for his iconic role in The West Wing and his involvement in political circles; Schiff was recently honored at the Emmys alongside his cast. She emphasized the evening’s significance in driving forward the expansion of pediatric care, particularly highlighting the establishment of the Advanced Cellular & Gene Therapy Unit—a state-of-the-art facility dedicated to delivering life-saving bone marrow transplants locally, eliminating the need for families to travel out of state for such critical treatments.

The event culminated with the poignant “Bid for Kids” live auction, where attendees raised their paddles for vital initiatives, directly impacting the future of pediatric healthcare in the region. The silent auction featured exclusive items from renowned brands and teams like La Roche-Posay, Cover Girl, the NY Giants, and the NY Mets, drawing significant attention and bids from attendees. Recognized as the Best Charity Event in the region for four out of the last five years, the gala is a testament to the hard work of the Gala Planning Committee and the generosity of sponsors. SouthOcean Capital Partners took the spotlight as the Presenting Sponsor, with All Waste Inc. stepping up as the Hatful of Dreams Wi-Fi sponsor, and numerous other sponsors supporting the cause.

The funds raised during this spectacular evening will empower Connecticut Children’s to invest in innovative research, advanced technologies, and treatments designed to provide every child with the personalized care they deserve. The event was a huge success, highlighted by an impressive fundraising total of 2.6 million dollars, underscoring the community’s generosity and support.

With the event running at the iconic Connecticut Convention Center, the focus was clear: to secure the future of pediatric care in Connecticut and their advancement in their cellular and gene therapy unit. As the night came to a close, it was evident that the Golden Ticket Gala not only honored the generosity of its supporters but also paved the way for significant advancements in the healthcare landscape, ensuring every child has access to the transformative care they need to thrive.

As the stars faded and the lights dimmed, the impact of the evening was undeniable—a collective step toward a brighter future for the children of Connecticut.
