Peta Murgatroyd of Dancing with the Stars is thanking her fans for their support while dealing with the difficulties of knowing her husband, Maks Chmerkovskiy, is still in Ukraine after Russia’s recent invasion.
Murgatroyd posted a photo of cookies she received along with a handwritten note. In her caption, she was vulnerable with her fans expressing her emotions. “Although I’m going through hell right now and I want it all to end…there is light that shines through the darkness,” she began.
“Strangers baked me cookies and proudly brought them to my door. They stood there with smiles so wide. Let me repeat….strangers, whom I don’t talk to thought that they should get in their kitchen and bake me cookies. They also took it upon themselves to google if I was allergic to anything, just to make sure they weren’t hurting me.
I welled up. They said, “Anything you need, we are here for you.” I’m a cancer by zodiac. I’m already emotional and these acts of kindness push me over the edge.”
She added that she “welled up” at the kindness of strangers telling her “Anything you need, we are here for you.” In the comments section, her husband responded with, “I love you and I’ll see you soon! Save me a cookie.”
